Congratulations to our new Business Manager

Paul Klipp by Paul Klipp, 26 March 2009

Back in 2004, Ewelina Janeczek joined Lunar Logic Polska as our first employee. Working closely with me over the course of six years, Ewelina has used her administrative, logistics, and negotiation skills to help build Lunar Logic Polska in her role as assistant to the President. The promotion recognizes her key contributions and continuing commitment to maintaining Lunar Logic Polska's hard-won position as the best web application provider in the region.

Promoting your Web App with supporting mediums

Paul Klipp by Paul Klipp, 23 March 2009

A new report released by Ars Technica illustrates that the iPhone OS, which includes the iPhone and the iPod Touch, accounts for the vast majority of mobile internet access market share.

The announcement that version 3.0 of the iPhone OS will address nearly every significant criticism of the iPhone should only boost these numbers. With such numbers, the opportunity for previously untenable entry points for your web application abound. Additionally, Adobe Air allows for the creation of cross-platform desktop applications with real-time access to your web application's data which means that with just two additional support applications you can now offer the services provided by your web application synchronously or asynchronously to all desktop and most mobile clients. Faced with reduced investment opportunities and declining marketing budgets, the angle funded or bootstrapping entrepreneur would be wise to consider tapping into concentrations of users around places like the App Store and Facebook and expanding entry points to include mobile devices and desktop applications.

OpenCoffee and TechCrunch in Krakow

Paul Klipp by Paul Klipp, 20 March 2009

It's been a very busy few days at Lunar Logic Polska as successful projects launch and new projects begin. SeedCamp in Warsaw on Wednesday and then OpenCoffee in Krakow on Thursday morning added to the excitement and challenge. Perhaps the best part is that I met Mike Butcher of TechCrunch in Warsaw and compelled him to take in the tech scene in Krakow with me, dragging him from what was to be a comfortable night in Warsaw to a mad dash for the last train to Krakow. I must say, he was a great sport about it. The news that the Europe Editor of TechCrunch was going to be at OpenCoffee attracted entrepreneurs who hadn't attended before and a reporter from a national radio station so I couldn't be more thrilled. Very kindly, he put in a nice mention about us and about the other friendly web application companies in Krakow on TechCrunch.

FOWA and SeedCamp

I went to FOWA Dublin and learned a lot. The networking was great and I enjoyed seeing lots of current and former clients and meeting Mike Butcher of TechCrunch. For a full update, check out my video podcast at scrumforsuccess.com. Yesterday I was in Warsaw as a mentor for SeedCamp which was fun and enlightening. It was great meeting and coaching so many Polish startups. As fun as success in my chosen field is, there's nothing more gratifying than giving back to the community that has given me so much.
